The Bucks Examiner has followed the project from the planning stage and has written various articles about our negotiation of the planning process to the commencement of the build.

  The Sunday Times  
 


Cloud 8 appeared in the Sunday Times on the 27th May 2001 - Gareth Huw Davis the journalist described the house as 'convention upending.'

The Sunday Times published a lengthy and informative article about the project, including how we found the site and communicated with the neighbours in order to secure planning.


 
  Build It magazine  
 
Build It magazine then picked up on the Project and described Cloud 8 as ' One of the most exciting new builds in Britain.' (July 2001)

  
  Channel 4 - Talkback Productions  
 
12 March 2003 saw the screening of a Grand Designs programme featuring Cloud 8, produced by Talkback Productions for Channel 4. This achieved an audience of 4.6 million - the highest ever for a Grand Designs programme. If you watched this you will know that the project was a long way off completion at the end of filming. Talkback then commissioned a second programme for Series 4, which was shown on 4 February 2004. For a host of reasons (many to be found on the 'news' pages
of this website!) the project was still uncompleted at that time.
There is a website for Grand Designs where you will find interesting information and links.

 
  Building Design  
 
For those of you not familiar with this - it is a weekly architectural publication. The article appeared in the issue of 31.01.03, and is reproduced very cheekily and rather swiftly whilst waiting for the very kind permission of Building Design to be given. (NB: for Hough House, read Huf House).
